One of my daughters loves to try fancy cocktails. When she
comes to visit she usually experiments with something different. For her sister’s wedding, she was assigned the
signature cocktail. Much research was required, and she came up with something
so marvellous I used it at the wedding of Josie O’Malley and Jake Greenblatt in

relaxing on the deck or the front porch with friends.

I've never tried this, though the name pops up in a lot of (British?) mysteries. I'll add it to my list, right after the Sazerac I discovered in New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteI *had* to try the sazerac in New Orleans!
DeleteWhat's Sazerac?
DeleteIt's a cocktail that I think originated in New Orleans.
Delete1/4 oz Absinthe, One sugar cube, 1 1/2 oz Rye whiskey or Cognac, Three dashes Peychaud's Bitters
I haven't had a Pimm's in years! We used to drink them in the summer at outdoor cafes in NYC back in the 1970s. So refreshing! I am going to have to try your recipe.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this recipe. Thank your daughter for coming up with it.
ReplyDeleteI love a Pimm's Cup. The versions I've tried use a carbonated lemonade or Sprite-type beverage.
ReplyDeletePerfect drink for a hot summer day.
