VMBURNS: It's September and Fall is ALMOST here. I had a watermelon that was ripening in my fridge with no desire to just eat watermelon. Instead, I wanted a nice watermelony drink (yeah, I said watermelony). So, what better way to enjoy the watermelon flavor than in a watermelon lemonade? Pouring the watermelon lemonade over Vodka turned this beverage from G-rating to ADULTS ONLY. Don't judge. It's been a long, hot summer. If you're feeling really fancy, you can dress this up with a few sprigs of mint or try sparking water instead of the regular water. I was thirsty and not feeling fancy, so I didn't, but it was still refreshingly delicious. It was all the tastes of summer in a glass.
WATERMELON LEMONADE
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 watermelon (enough for about 4 cups of juice)
- 4-5 lemons (enough to make 1 cup of lemon juice)
- 1 Cup granulated sugar (less if you like it tart)
- 4-6 Cups of water
- INSTRUCTIONS

- Use a mesh strainer to strain the liquid into a pitcher.
- Juice the lemons. Strain and add to the pitcher with the watermelon juice.
- Add water and sugar.
- Serve over ice.
