Baklava Bites Easy Recipe by Maya Corrigan

Using mini phyllo shells, you can make a hand-held version of baklava. It’s not the dripping-with-honey flaky pastry you’ll get at a Greek restaurant or bakery, but it makes for a quick and easy snack with a flavor similar to baklava. Scroll down for details about a Huge Book Giveaway!

INGREDIENTS

1 package mini phyllo shells (15 pieces)
1 cup chopped walnuts (OR pistachios, almonds, or a nut mixture)
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup honey
1/2 - 1 Tbsp lemon juice (Use the larger amount if you like less sweet desserts)
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Place phyllo shells on an ungreased baking sheet.

Stir together chopped nuts, melted butter, honey, and cinnamon.

Spoon the nut mixture into each phyllo shell until it's filled, approximately 2 teaspoons per shell.

Bake for 10 minutes or until the nuts look lightly toasted.

Remove the shells from the sheet. Serve warm or cool.

ENJOY!
