Guest @CateConte with Fairy Fire drink #recipe and #giveaway!

MADDIE DAY here, delighted to welcome my longtime friend and Wicked Authors blogmate, Cate Conte (aka Liz Mugavero). Witch Trial, her newest Full Moon Mystery, is freshly released, and she's sharing an awesome drink recipe with us all! I love this series and this book is another delightful installment.

Long before Violet Mooney was a witch, she was attracted to all things magical and mystical. So when things were, er, better between her and her boyfriend Todd, he created the Fairy Fire for her at his bar, Luck o' the Irish. It makes for a great holiday drink - or, let's be honest, any time of the year. Enjoy!

Fairy Fire

Ingredients:

Crown Royal - because every fairy needs a crown

Pomegranate Liqueur.

Directions for one drink:

2 parts Crown and 1 part Pomegranate Liqueur.

Heat a glass of water in microwave to almost boiling.

Dump water.

Serve in your hot glass. A brandy snifter works well for this.

Garnish with an orange slice - a must if serving in hot glass.

Options: Serve cold using a shaker with ice. Pour in glass. Add ginger ale or for an extra special treat cream soda. Add to taste.

Readers: what's your favorite special drink? I'll give away (U.S. only) one copy of Witch Trial!

Double, double toil and trouble,
A witch’s life is quite a muddle.

The Full Moon crystal shop in North Harbor, Connecticut, offers healing stones for all sorts of ailments. Unfortunately, there’s nothing among the gems that can help owner Violet Mooney learn how to wield the magick she inherited from both sides of her family—the legendary Ravenstar and Moonstone clans. As if being an apprentice witch weren’t difficult enough, Violet’s tutors are her estranged mother Fiona, a sister she never knew she had named Zoe, and a familiar in the form of a black cat, Xander.

Between learning spells, Violet is being investigated by the Magickal Council. A reporter out to debunk spiritualists was “genied”—her soul imprisoned inside a bottle—in Violet’s shop, and she can’t prove she didn’t do it. Meanwhile, her non-magickal life has become complicated when one of her crystal shop customers, Nicole St. James, goes missing and turns up dead, a victim of murder.

Determined to solve both crimes, Violet taps into powers she doesn’t understand, much less control—and finds herself conjuring up both supernatural and mortal enemies…

Cate Conte writes the Cat Cafe Mysteries and the new Full Moon Mysteries. As Liz Mugavero, she writes the Pawsitively Organic Mysteries, the first of which was an Agatha Award nominee for Best First Novel. She lives in Connecticut with her rescue pals.

    1. Linda, not boring at all! I drink tons of water. If I drank too much of this it would be a problem!

  7. Not much of an alcohol drinker, but when given the occasion traveling to our favorite hotel that gives drinks at their evening gathering, I do enjoy one drink there when I asked for something sweet and fruity. Watching them make it, I saw that it had orange juice, sprite, grenadine, a splash of sweet and sore, rum and served with cherries. At home, I'm more of a lemonade or Diet Pepsi person.

Thank you for the wonderful chance to win a copy of "Witch Trial"! Would love the chance to read it - especially since it's on my TBR list.
