Pasta with Lobster from @MaddieDayAuthor plus #giveaway

MADDIE here. I was recipe testing for MURDER IN A CAPE COTTAGE, the fourth Cozy Capers Book Group mystery, which is due August 1. This dish came out great, so I thought I'd share it here. And I'll give away two ARCs for MURDER AT THE LOBSTAH SHACK, book three, which releases in November!

Pasta with Lobster

Ingredients

2 cups cooked lobster meat

1 pound sturdy pasta, like rotini or farfalle

4 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 small onion, finely diced

4 garlic cloves, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 cup halved mixed gold and red cherry tomatoes

1/2 cup pasta water

 Salt and pepper

1/2 cup basil leaves, slivered

Directions

Set a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta.

Pour olive oil in a wide skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 1 minute, without browning.

Add garlic and red pepper and cook for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and season generously with salt and pepper. Add lobster meat, stir to coat, cook 1 minute, then turn off heat and cover until pasta is ready.

When pasta is al dente, add 1/2 cup of the water to the skillet. Drain pasta, add to skillet, add basil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss well.

Serve immediately with freshly grated parmesan and a green salad.

  1. I’ll eat seafood pretty much any way but I’ve never had lobster with pasta. The recipe sounds good.

  2. I love to take a drive to the beach and visit one of my favorite restaurants with a lovely view. I usually order fried clams or scallops or if I can't decide I get half and half. A few weeks ago we were on Cape Cod visiting family and stopped at a lobster shack and everyone had lobster rolls. Thank you so much for a chance at your giveaway. pgenest57 at aol dot com

  3. Your lobster pasta recipe sounds delicious. I usually eat my fish fried, my shrimp fried or in a Mexican shrimp cocktail, and my lobster steamed. Thank you for a chance to win the newest book. 3labsmom(at)gmail(dot)com.

  4. Living so far inland, just the thought of a dish with seafood in it makes my mouth water. Your recipe for Pasta with Lobster sounds to die for! Definitely saving this recipe for the rare occasion we get some good lobster. I can't think of a way we don't like seafood. I often think we plan our vacations to where we will have access to getting to try new seafood dishes and get our fill of just crab and lobster by themselves.

Love your books and so looking forward to reading "MURDER IN A CAPE COTTAGE". Great cover which reminds me of our wonderful trip to Maine a few years back.

Shared and hoping to be the fortunate one selected. Thanks for the chance!

  8. I live in Austin Tx now so only eat lobster on occasion. I miss growing up on the ocean in Ma where the seafood market down the hill had that days catch right off the boats.

  9. My favorite way to eat seafood is to eat it while on vacation in Gloucester, MA, sitting on a bench in the harbor while eating a lobster roll! :)

  10. Sounds lovely. I assume the lobster flavor comes through nicely.
"Add garlic and red pepper and cook for 1 minute. " I assume this is the red pepper flakes?

  11. Thankfully now there's a Kosher substitute for lobster and crab meat. It's the same product they use to make sushi. So I get to try the recipe. I might go a little lite on the red pepper flakes. My stomach isn't as fireproof as it was in my 20's thru 40's.

Both of your upcoming new releases are on my new titles release list and will go life on the 15th of the month prior to release so my blog followers can pre-order them.

  12. Growing up the in Midwest the seafood was usually fried or hidden in a shrimp cocktail or occasionally part of "surf & turf." Now I usually prefer broiled whitefish. However, I recently discovered lobster rolls and that might become an addiction.

  14. Mmmm. That looks good! I have some crawfish in the freezer that I bet I could substitute for the lobster. I don't really have a favorite way to eat seafood. It really depends on what it is.

  15. I don’t like seafood at all but I do like shrimp cocktail and I love when my mom makes pasta with a lemon butter sauce and shrimp in it and I like certain fish like salmon or flounder

  16. I like seafood just about any way but I haven't tried sushi. It's not something we really have around here, and raw fish just doesn't appeal to me.

  18. Seafood served almost anyway. I am not fond of breaded seafood, but otherwise, in a salad, broiled, baked grilled, in pasta...can't wait to try this recipe. Shrimp is probably one of the easiest shellfish to get hold of around here. I have a recipe with shrimp and Israeli couscous that is a favorite.

  19. The recipes sounds great. My favorite restaurant serves mac and cheese with lobster as an add on! Love it!

  20. Love your books, Edith! I grew up eating seafood, including catching our own fish, crabs, crawfish and clams in several places, besides fresh off the boats wherever we were. I like it any ol' way, and we have it at least once if not twice or more a week. Your recipe using lobster is similar to one I often make usually with shrimp. Looks delish! lola777_22 at hotmail dot com.

  21. I love fisherman's platters. Scallops fried or broiled are great. Lobster steamed or boiled is the best with lots of butter. I am going to have to try the pasta with lobster. It looks so good.

  23. My favorite way to eat seafood is boiled or broiled with butter. I like boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce. Of course my # 1 favorite is whole boiled lobster with butter. I was amused when I read somewhere that long, long ago convicts in New England were given lobster to eat! I have read a number of books in your assorted series and enjoyed them all!
