Today I'm welcoming an alumni of MLK, Wendy Lyn Watson as my guest blogger. I have to admit that while I was preparing this blog and getting it ready to be posted, I was drooling a bit and afterward, I plan on making this as soon as I get all the ingredients.
Wendy is giving away two e-books: Death at Cape Misery and I Scream, You Scream
Leave a comment with your e-mail for a chance to win.
I am having a great time working on my latest project, a series coauthored with my friend Melissa Bourbon. Death at Cape Misery (the second book in the series, and the first authored by me) releases on December 1.
8 oz. Monterrey jack cheese
8 oz. cream cheese
1 ½ cups salsa verde*
½ c. milk
* I use a medium heat
salsa. The cheese tames it nicely. If you really don’t like spice, though, go
with mild.
Here’s where it gets easy: cut the cheese into cubes. Put this all in the crockpot. Set the slow cooker to “low” and wait until the cheese melts (usually about 1.5 hours). Stir occasionally. And that’s it.
It’s delicious, rich, creamy … oh gosh, I’m
going to need to heat up some of the leftovers for dinner!

ReplyDeleteMany a night I have enjoyed nachos for dinner and this looks like a yummy, fast topping for future nights.
ReplyDeleteI read Murder in Devil's Cove and enjoyed it, and am looking forward to your book. Are you going to put out a novella too like Melissa did with The secret of Rum Runner's Lane?

DeleteHi Kim - so glad you enjoyed Murder in Devil's Cove. Melissa is an amazing writer, isn't she? I hope I can live up to her start with Death at Cape Misery (which is a little delayed and now coming out the end of January). The plan is for us to also put out more of the "minis" - each touching on the life of one of the other Lane women. I'll be writing first about Cora's mother, Lacy (Pippin's aunt). We've had so much fun coming up with this family tree!
DeleteGooey, cheesy delights.
ReplyDelete"she’s teaching American government to college kids" That is what our country needs: More people learning civics and critical thinking!!! But maybe at an earlier age, say high school or middle school?

Souns delicious, and the easy kind of dish we need after elaborate holiday meals. As an Oregonian I always enjoy books with a local setting.
