Joyce Lavene
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Joyce Lavene. A talented writer, we know she touched many of you with her books. She was often a guest at Mystery Lovers' Kitchen, always happy to share her recipes. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. And a treasured friend to those of us who knew her. She will be sorely missed.

So very sad. She was a kind, compassionate Facebook friend and a talented author.
ReplyDeleteI have only been a "cozy-ette " for a few months, and was always excited by books written by Joyce and Jim....Retired Witches and Renaissance Faire! When a book I won had yet to arrive, Joyce had such a humorous story to share with me about her adventures at the post office. She will live on in her books...we will all have that! kat8762@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI got my 1st tablet this spring for my birthday. The 1st app I downloaded was Kindle.
ReplyDeleteI then came down with a particularly virulent strain of the flu, so with great trepidation I tried to download my 1st e-book....the 1st Peggy Lee Garden mystery by Jim and Joyce Lavene.
I spent a number of days in bed with pneumonia AND the flu, but I secretly call it my "Spring Break" because after the 1st Peggy Lee mystery, I downloaded EVERY OTHER ONE in the series!
I am so saddened by her loss. She must have been a lovely person, and I will STILL look at Amazon 1 or 2 times a month to see if there is a new Peggy mystery!
Peace and prayers for her friends and family
She will be sorely missed! What a shock it was to hear about this yesterday. Sincere prayers and condolences to Jim and her family. Our hearts are with you all!
ReplyDeleteI met Joyce on Facebook, and she was always warm and sweet. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to her family.. She will be greatly missed..
ReplyDeleteSo sad. When I first saw a post announcing this on Facebook I hoped it was a hacker's bad joke.
ReplyDeleteWish it had been.
She will be missed.
She will be greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteJoyce will be sorely missed. I hope that Jim will continue (even though it will be hard) to continue the legacy of books that they started together.
ReplyDeleteLife is full of many surprises and many of them are not the happy kind, and this is one of them. Sending love and prayers to Joyce's entire family and will definitely think of her even more while reading any of the books I have and any that may follow. Cynthia Blain
