Welcome Misty Simon!

Please join me in a very warm welcome to Misty Simon! Misty writes the Tallie Graver Mysteries, which feature a house cleaner. What better opportunity to peer into the lives of others? Her upcoming release is DECEASED AND DESIST. She's giving away a copy today! Don't forget to enter by leaving a comment below.

Hi, Misty Simon here! I’m a huge fan of cozy mysteries – who doesn’t love justice in the end and a few laughs along the way as our amateur sleuth finds whodunit with or without the police?
In my Tallie Graver Mystery series, Tallie is usually completely at odds with the police who just want her to mind her own business. But between cleaning for the people she used to air kiss before her swan dive from the town’s elite and trying to not get roped into working full-time at her father’s funeral home, she always seems to be stuck right in the middle of any suspicious activity in her small town. From finding bodies to trying to sneak in some time with her new boyfriend Max, who she affectionately calls the Taxinator, there’s never a dull day for the woman who knows her flaws and flaunts them for all she’s worth.
And now it’s Fall, which calls for sweet treats in Tallie’s kitchen, what little there is of it on the third floor of the funeral home (quiet neighbors but kind of cramped quarters). Usually she indulges in lots of snickerdoodles, but here’s a quick and easy recipe for Tallie’s Pumpkin Patch dessert! Enjoy!
3 ½ c cold milk
2 pkgs (4 serving size) Chocolate instant Jell-O
8 oz cream cheese softened
1 tub Cool Whip thawed
1 pkg Oreos crushed

Make pudding as directed on pkg using 3 ½ c milk. Let stand for five minutes. Stir in 3 c Cool Whip, cream cheese and ½ crushed cookies. Spoon into 13x9 pan. Sprinkles with remaining crushed cookies. Refrigerate one hour then decorate with candy, cool whip ghosts, Milano cookies decorated as tomb stones and whatever else fits your fancy! Tallie is a big fan of pumpkins and candy corn.

Window of opportunity . . .

Most housecleaners don’t do windows, but Tallie Graver loves leaving a pane of glass streak-free and sparkling. After a dirty divorce from a filthy-rich jerk, she’s started her own cleaning business to make ends meet. On her latest job, prepping a renovated bed and breakfast for a grand re-opening, she’s standing outside on a ladder, wiping off a grimy pane, when she spies a man on a bed through the glass. But the B&B isn’t open for business yet—and the man’s not sleeping. Her family owns the Graver Funeral Home, so Tallie knows a corpse when she sees one.The victim is a shady building inspector with a reputation for handing out passing grades for a greased palm. With the local police resistant, Tallie launches her own investigation, before she gets a rep as a town crank. But it’s going to take more than a squirt bottle and a squeegee to clean up this mess. With the help of her gal pal Gina, Tallie searches for a killer’s motive. But she’d better be careful, or it’ll be curtains for this window cleaner . . .
“An amusing new series with an engaging, spirited sleuth.” —Library Journal

Bio: Misty Simon always wanted to be a storyteller…preferably behind a Muppet. Animal was number one, followed closely by Sherlock Hemlock… Since that dream didn’t come true, she began writing stories to share her world with readers, one laugh at a time. She knows how to hula, was classically trained to sing opera, co-wrote her high school Alma Mater, and can’t touch raw wood. Never hand her a Dixie cup with that wooden spoon/paddle thing. It’s not pretty.

Touching people’s hearts and funny bones are two of her favorite things, and she hopes everyone at least snickers in the right places when reading her books. She lives with her husband, daughter, and two insane dogs in Central Pennsylvania where she is hard at work on her next novel. She loves to hear from readers so drop her a line at misty@mistysimon.com or visit at www.mistysimon.com to connect!

  1. of course like your web-site however you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to inform the reality however I’ll surely come back again.https://whitepearlgroup.com/!

I have a thing for the Muppets, whether on Sesame Street or as the Muppets themselves. Fozzie Bear has my heart and Rolf the dog plays a mean piano!

    1. LOL, running, jumping, barking, general mischief that involves shoes and any stuffed toy with fluff still in it, plus the begging for food dance. I have a bichon maltese and a bichon maltese mixed with cocker spaniel and the are constantly running around even at 13 and 12.

  10. Tallie’s Pumpkin Patch fits the bill - easy and yummy.

"DECEASED AND DESIST" sounds like a wonderful read and exactly the type of book I love. Love cozies and especially those that include a little romance on the side. It would be interesting to read about the Taxinator and her heartthrob Max along the way to solving crime all the while keeping things clean. By the way, Tallie is MORE than welcome to come clean my windows and anything else she so desires here at my home. :) Absolutely adorable cover!

Thank you for the recipe and the opportunity to win a copy of "DECEASED AND DESIST!
