Teddy Bear Picnic #Recipe from Guest Meg Macy! #GIVEAWAY

Please welcome today's guest -- author Meg Macy.  Meg Macy writes the Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear cozy mysteries for Kensington. Who doesn’t love a teddy bear? But her series has an edge, since “there’s nothing warm and fuzzy about murder.” Set in Silver Hollow, Michigan, Sasha Silverman manages the family’s teddy bear shop and factory – and stumbled into catching killers…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks, Mystery Lovers Kitchen authors, for having me here today! I’m a big fan of the “quick and easy” method of putting together a meal, dessert, or party. I used to bake but time has gotten away from me – too many deadlines now! So here’s a great idea for hosting a fast, quick and easy "Teddy Bear Picnic" for your kids or grandkids! They would LOVE to take part and help prepare - with their favorite teddy bear, of course, or any stuffed animal.
I came late to loving teddy bears, although I did enjoy several "tea parties" with my daughter and her Bun (The Velveteen Rabbit) plus other stuffed animals. The more, the merrier! But since it’s summer, and close to the Fourth of July, we’ll go with a picnic theme.
TEDDY BEAR PICNIC MENU
Peanut Butter "Paws"
Beary Berry Good Fruit Cups
Goldfish, Teddy Grahams, Gummy Bears
Teddy Bear Ice Cream Sandwiches
Peanut Butter Paws
Bread, round cutter, peanut butter, pecan pieces
Cut round “paws”, save crusts for birds or toss. Spread peanut butter on one round, cover with another round, dab peanut butter on four pecan pieces to resemble claws.
Beary Berry Fruit Cups
Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, sponge cake rounds or cupcake liners
Wash berries – whichever kids (or bears) love in your family. Fill bought sponge cake rounds or cupcake liners, add berries. Optional topping with whipped cream, healthier to skip.
Teddy Bear Ice Cream Sandwiches
Ice cream, homemade or store-bought cookies, chocolate chips
Scoop ice cream onto backside of one cookie, top with second. Decorate with chocolate chips, piped icing, goldfish, teddy grahams, or however you desire.
Hope you enjoy your Teddy Bear Picnic. Have a safe and festive holiday!
  15. Such a cute sounding book and great cover. Growing up, my life was filled with bears since I have two younger sisters and all of us loved bears. One childhood memory that was a bit annoying was that other kids especially would spell my last name of Bayer as Bear. The worst joke was Have you seen Cynthia Bare? Not funny to a young girl who was very shy too. So, yes, bears are a big memory for me. If I were lucky enough to win, I'd share this book withvmy two sisters for sure. I don't leave email addresses any more due to numerous unwanted contacts from strangers in other countries but you can reach me on Facebook as Cynthia Bayer Blain. Thank you. Cynthia "Bear". 😉
    I had a huge teddy bear when I was born. I carried it everywhere for many, many years. My mother patched it so many times and restuffed it constantly. She got to the place it was no longer able to be saved. Sad day for a 10-11 year old.
    Moving forward --the day of my dad's funeral, my then boyfriend brought me a huge teddy bear. This one is nearly identical to my childhood one he knew nothing about. Malcolm (the teddy) rode seatbelted in my car for years--the boyfriend only lasted about a year. That was in 1985. I still have Malcolm-I will be 59 soon. Everyone of all ages loves Teddy bears. It is brilliant for you to include them in your stories. Thank you so much!
Oh my dearly departed brother (middle name Theodore or Teddy) would have loved your picnic idea with the food and the teddy bears as much as I do as we both loved berries (of any kind) and we both loved cinnamon teddy bears! He was always my personal teddy bear whenever I was feeling down. I thought of him lovingly while I was reading Bearly Departed. I have about 50 teddy bears so obviously I love teddy bears!
