Yum, ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, what were we talking about?
Mark, I know!!!! Right?

I'm with Mark! We have an old hand-crank ice cream freezer. You really earn it that way!
ReplyDeleteI remember when my dad got an old hand-crank freezer. The salt. Hard times. But still good eats!

Someone gave me an ice cream maker, and Ihave yet to use it. Now is the perfect time to get it out and try your recipes. I adore ice cream. I ate so much of it when I was pregnant with my first daughter that I thought I was going to give birth to an ice cream cone!
ReplyDeletePeg, LOL!!!! Such a fun image.

You had me at marscapone. Haven't made ice cream in years. Cold Stone is too close. This recipe may have me searching for my ice cream maker.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, Cold Stone makes such delicious ice cream. Love that place. The one near us closed. Boo hoo.

This looks sooo good and I've been looking for recipes for vanilla ice cream. I'm definitely going to try this one, as Barbara T. said, you had me at marscapone! I thrilled to be the winner of the tea and the new novel by Hannah Dennison, I know I'm going to enjoy both.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Karen! Happy for you. :)

I'm crazy for ice cream, too, Daryl. Last year I made some in my Cuisinart but it tasted of metal – like the freezer bowl. Very odd. Now I'm afraid to try again!

Aha. This is very important. Make sure you wash the container really well with soap and dry thoroughly, including letting the "thermal" stuff turn warm - out of the freezer before returning to the freezer. That's a warning in the Cuisinart manual. Otherwise it will taste like metal. It must have something to do with the conducting material inside.
