Holiday Buzz Release Party Giveaway and a Cookie-palooza from Cleo Coyle

Behold my Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies, among the many cookies featured in Holiday Buzz, my new culinary mystery, just released today. To celebrate, I'm blogging at Fresh Fiction.com, where I'll tell you more about this 12th entry in my Coffeehouse Mystery series. I hope you'll drop by and say hello!

To jump there, click here

Leave a comment on my Fresh Fiction post this week and you'll be entered to win a personally inscribed copy of Holiday Buzz and a stainless steel NYPD travel mug (guaranteed to keep your coffee safe as well as warm).

I'll have a new recipe for you next week. In the meantime, I'm happy to share some of the foodie photography from my Holiday Buzz Recipe Guide. You can download the complete, illustrated guide at my Fresh Fiction post, too, so be sure to look for the link to the Guide.

Now let's start that cookie party! First up...

Clare Cosi's New York Cheesecake Cookies
with Candied Strawberry Dizzle

(Both recipes and the ones below
can be found in Holiday Buzz.)

Janelle's Gingerbread
Crackle Cookies

Lemon Sugar Cookies (Madame's favorite)

Clare Cosi's Eggnog
Crumb Muffins
(small batch version)

Okay, not a cookie. But the recipe is wonderful.
These are a favorite of  NYPD Detective
Mike Quinn's (and mine, too).
T
ender and sweet, they carry a hint of  nutmeg
and a lovely eggnoggy fragrance and flavor.

(Yes, I invented the word eggnoggy. :))

And finally congrats to the winner of my Kona Coffee Drawing! The winning comment from my "Twinkie Cupcake" post (by random number generator) is...

Congrats, Wendy! I'll contact you
and get you the tasty prize!

And speaking of tasty...If you're wondering how that
Thanksgiving Poll turned out, the results are below.

You were asked:
Along with your turkey,
what single dish
makes your
Thanksgiving complete?

44% of you said Stuffing
17% of you said Pumpkin Pie
15% of you said Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
14% of you said Cranberry Sauce
6% said a Sweet Potato dish
4% said something else, including Sue F.,
who cited her sister's Pumpkin Soup
and...
0% of you said Pepperoni Pizza. :)

  1. OMG! Reading your posts makes it hard to stick to my diet. A couple of years ago I managed to lose in weight the equivalent of a large 5th grader. I see all of your wonderful recipes and I want to make them all. Of course, they are too good for me to leave in the house because I'll eat them all so I just take them to school. My co-workers (even those who are not readers) love you! I'm headed over to Fresh Friction to enter your contest. I've been trying to add an autographed copy of one of your books to my collection forever. I so wish you would visit Colorado for a signing.

    1. Booklady - Colorado happens to be where some of my family lives, so it's entirely possible I will be there for a signing one day. If I do, I'll be sure to broadcast it and maybe you and I will be able to hug in person. I'm so please to know that you are enjoying my books (and the recipes, too, if only vicariously)!

My very best wishes go out to you for a bright and meaningful holiday...and I hope you enjoy Holiday Buzz!

  2. I was so excited today was here I woke up early. Couldn't wait to get my hands on my kindle fire to read Holiday Buzz. Then I realized if I gobbled it up now, I wouldn't have it to read during the holidays. SO I'm holding off until next week to start it. I'm sure it will be done within a week once I do start it.

  6. One challenge with reading your books this the saliva dripping on the pages as you describe various food delights!
Holiday Buzz is terrific!!! Another winner.
It even has one of those scenes where you're saying, "No! Don't do that! Don't go there!" And, of course, they do.

    1. Libby - You are spot-on. Drooling followed by silent shouting is the typical reaction of our readers. :) Not kidding now -- thank you and I'm very happy to know that you enjoyed the book.

  8. You have done it again, Cleo!!! Gorgeous photos and recipes to die for...though I have never really understood that expression ;-)

Congratulations on all the wonderful reviews on a truly wonderful book.

Now to choose which recipe to make first? Hmmmmmm....

    1. Nanc - You always, always brighten my day. "To die for" - yes, it is a rather odd expression. Perhaps the underside of a Snapple cap will tell me the historical origin. I'll have to watch for it. :) In the meantime, I sincerely thank you for dropping by the Kitchen, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I know you've read every entry and your literary thumbs-up means a lot to me and Marc.

  11. Cleo you know I love your books and Holiday Buzz is wonderful. Can't wait until later this month to share my review with your post.

    Congratulations on your new release.

I love the cookies no to make choices or just make everything.

  12. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been trying so hard not to peek at the recipes at the end of Holiday Buzz, because I'm only about 1/3 through it and I don't want any hints--but I just knew the recipes I've been wanting were there waiting! I know which one I'm going to make first: Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies. Perfect. I've been craving some chocolate cookies, and I already have the candy canes. But the ginger will have to be made very soon, because I'm also craving really spicy ginger cookies. And then the rest!
Holiday Buzz is a delight (of course) - Christmas festivity and atmosphere, those characters I've grown to love, and a plot that's got me grabbing every minute of my rare spare time to dig into it. You and Marc always know how to just hit the spot with your books!
