Holly has been a long time pal of mine,
starting when we both wrote for Harlequin
Duets. She's an absolute delight as a person
and a writer, so I'm just tickled to have her
here with us!
Hi, I'm Holly Jacobs. I don't write mysteries.
Okay, so I did once write a comedic romance
that might count. It was sort of a Weekend at
Bernie's story. A dead body that kept moving
around. However, my dead body died happy and
stayed frozen the whole time (Bernie would
have smelled). The book's title was
Found and Lost. Me, I wanted to call it
Can't Find NoBODY. I thought it was a perfect
title for a dead body mystery/romance!
LOL
Okay, the rest of my bio? Wife, mother,
dog-owner (okay the dogs wouldn't agree
with that...Ethel Merman and Ella Fitzgerald
are pretty sure they own me.) and writer...that
about sums up who I am. I'm also someone who
really enjoys cooking and baking. Nothing fancy.
Just good old home cooking sort of meals.
When my friend Jenn asked me to participate in
this blog I wanted to think
but easy. Something that was great for a quick
I mean Wheaties as
made it for years, and have adapted it
original recipe that a friend gave me. It's quick
to throw
company stops in for coffee.
Here goes:
Wheaties Bread
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour (or White Wheat)
1 Cup Sugar
2 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Salt
2 tsp Cinnamon (I tend to use a bit
more...we like it spicy)
Mix the dry ingredients, then add:
2 Cups Wheaties cereal
1 Cup Milk
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1/4 Cup Oil
Mix.
Use cooking spray to coat a bread pan.
Rather than dust it with flour, I dust it with
sugar (or a sugar/cinnamon mixture).
Pour the mixture in. (I tend to sprinkle
a fine layer of sugar on top as well.)
Bake at 350 for 60 Minutes.
This is a great sweet bread to serve warm to guests
during the busy holiday season. And this year's
holiday season is really busy here. In addition
to family gatherings, I have two releases!!
