Homemade Onion Dip #recipe @vmburns #Giveaway

vmburns: My 2023 ended with a fizzle. I had a death in the family and got COVID. YUCK! So, I rang in Christmas and the New Year in isolation. Thankfully, the poodles were great company. Originally, I had great plans to celebrate the new year. I bought a prime rib, but my mood wouldn't do it justice. So, I decided to hang on to that for a later date. I didn't want to go to the effort of cooking a big meal, but I still needed to eat. I'd bought the ingredients for a charcuterie board for when I planned to celebrate. Cheese, meat, crackers, and fruit were just what I needed. The only thing missing was a spread. No hummus in the pantry, but that's when I decided to add an onion dip. Sour cream and onion soup mix. Easy peasy. My only problem was that I was out of onion soup mix. However, thanks to the SavoryExperiment.com, I found a recipe for homemade onion soup mix which was super easy. I cut the recipe in half and made a few minor substitutions, but it turned out great.

Homemade Onion Dip

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 Cup dried onion flakes (I used minced)
  • 3 Tablespoons beef bouillon ground
  • 1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
  • 1/2 Teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2  Teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 Cup sour cream

  • INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Combine the dry ingredients and mix well.

    2. Mix the dry ingredients with the sour cream.
Here's my finished charcuterie board (or plate).
