My granddaughter's favorite things are tacos, chicken nuggets, shrimp, salmon, pasta alfredo and broccoli cheese soup. Whenever she is visiting, I try to make one of the dishes she likes. This time it was pasta alfredo with chicken. I added some frozen green peas to sneak a vegetable in her! This was easy and oh, so delicious. You can use the pasta of your choice--hers was mini farfalle, because she thought they were cute. This recipe is adapted from one by Supergolden Bakes (www.supergoldenbakes.com.)
Your grandduaghter's taste in foods sounds rather like mine. All I know is that just because she ate something happily last time is no guarrantee that she won't refuse to eat it this time. Even pasta!
It does sound like a tasty dish. I think I'd try evaporated milk in place of the cream--similar mouth feel but less fat and calories.
Libby, will evaporated milk thicken up a bit like heavy cream does? That would make this much lower in calories and I wouldn't have to save the recipe for special occasions!

This looks delicious. I like the idea of adding peas.

DeleteThe recipe sounds delicious. Versatile sauce. I would also use it with tuna instead of chicken.
