Classic Cosmopolitan #recipe #memorialDay @vmburns

VMBURNS: Nothing says summer like a pretty pink Cosmopolitan Cocktail. This one is super easy and great for relaxing on the deck after firing up the grill. Yeah, I still don't have a martini glass, but the Cosmo still tasted great.

    THE NEXT DEADLY CHAPTER

All Sam wanted was to make a good impression on her fiancĂ© Frank’s mother, the very proper Dr. Camilia Patterson. But when Nano Jo and the lively ladies of Shady Acres Retirement Village throw a surprise bridal shower for Sam at the Four Feathers Casino—watch out! Things spin out of control faster than a roulette wheel. Fortunately, Sam knows when to fold ’em and slips back to her room to work on her latest historical mystery set between the wars, in which a houseguest meets a grim end at an English country manor.

The morning after brings another rude surprise. Sam gets a frantic call from Camilia, who’s discovered a dead body in her room. Now winning over her soon-to-be mother-in-law means keeping the good doctor out of a potential scandal and attempting to discreetly solve a murder without ruffling any feathers. For that she’ll need the help of Nano Jo—not exactly the soul of discretion—Detective “Stinky” Pitt, and the ladies—because the casino killer keeps upping the ante. . .

  1. Back when I was a kid and folks didn't grill once (or more) a week, Memorial Day was usually the first time to grill and was like a statement that summer was almost here. While we, like so many, grill often and all through the year, Memorial Day is still something on the grill usually accompanied by potato salad and hopefully homemade ice cream. Not to break with tradition, this year hubby's got a pork shoulder that he's going to smoke while I fix the sides of the standard potato salad and possibly baked beans. Glad that the homemade ice cream is easier to make now with the attachment to my Kitchenaid mixer. :)

Thank you for the CLASSIC COSMOPOLITAN recipe!

    1. Ribs, potato salad and baked beans sounds great. FYI - I used to work for Whirlpool/KitchenAid and I love my stand mixer. I don't have the ice cream attachment, but I do like the pasta attachments.

  3. My grill died awhile back and I have not been willing to spend the crazy amount of money they want for a new one. Hot weather (I live in the desert where we are now experiencing those fun triple digit temps.) means an onslaught of salads. I'm thinking Mediterranean Shrimp Salad sounds pretty tasty for this weekend. Happy Memorial Day!

  4. Thank you for reminding me how easy Cosmos are to make! It's a sunny day here in Santa Cruz, so perhaps for cocktail hour tonight?
