Chicken wheat dog biscuit #recipe from @DarylWoodGerber

Homemade dog biscuits are not necessarily pretty.

I don’t know about you, but I love what I can find on the Internet. Type in your question, and up come tons of answers. Of course, you have to browse through them and find the best one for you, but when you find it, you’re through with your research.

From website Two Healthy Kitchens

Well, I was looking for a home-baked treat for Sparky. Doggies need treats, too.  Sparky has a very sensitive stomach, so I decided to make something with very few ingredients. I found this recipe on Two Healthy Kitchens.

Sparky was happy with it.  His pals were even happier!

CHICKEN WHEAT DOG BISCUITS

Makes 60-70 biscuits)
2 cups chopped, cooked chicken
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 5.3-ounce container nonfat plain Greek yogurt
3/4 cup water
1 egg, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a food processor, grind the chicken so it is very fine. You want 2 full cups of packed chicken.

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients, stirring until thoroughly incorporated. This batter will be thick and sticky.

Drop the batter by tablespoons onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Note: these biscuits don’t spread very much, so you can easily put 4 or 5 to a row.

Using the back of a slightly wet spoon, flatten the biscuits. You might want to clean up the edges.

Bake for 14-16 minutes, until warm golden brown.

Cool completely on wire racks. Store in refrigerator, or if you need to store longer, put in zippered freezer bags and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.  [Note: I like to wrap in a plastic seal wrap first and then store in freezer bags so the biscuits don’t get freezer burn

Savor the mystery!
