Dorie Greenspan's Easy Almond Cake #recipe @LucyBurdette

LUCY BURDETTE: You saw the meatloaf I made last week for a friend's "new job, new life" celebration. I wanted to make a cake too, but nothing too labor intensive.

When she's not eating, cooking, or blogging, Lucy Burdette writes the Key West food critic mystery series.

Fatal Reservations, the sixth book in the series, will be in bookstores on July 7, but you can certainly order it now!

  1. I don't eat nuts, but I'm a sucker for anything almond-flavored (don't ask me why). And I just happen to have a bag of Red Mill Almond Flour... I see a cake in my future!

    1. You don't like nuts Sheila? they are not my favorite thing, but I do like almonds and pistachios, and things cooked with nuts

  2. What a lovely recipe. It sounds light and delicious. Just right for Spring. And your fruit accompaniment is perfect.
    Hear that, weather?!

  5. We all learn which cookbooks always get it right. Dorie's Around My French Table is one for me; sounds like this will be another.

  6. I believe I have to check into Dorie's cookbooks! This sounds so good. You must have mangoes everywhere. Yum!

  7. This recipe's a keeper. I love almonds and almond flour (like you I buy Bob's Red Mill). I think this is something I've got to try.

  9. Boy, do I love this! I have a lot of friends who can't take flour and they'll be thrilled to learn about it.

    It's really pretty too.

    Thank you, Roberta/Lucy1
