Treat your ghouls and goblins to this monstrously tasty and dangerously delectable pie. It's so easy to make that your little trolls will gladly volunteer to assist and if you have any candy leftover, you can always hand it out to the trick-or-treaters!
*Make one day before you plan to serve, as this pie needs to chill out before it can attack your taste buds!
1 box (18.3 oz) fudge brownie mix
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
½ cup milk
1 box (4-serving size) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
green food coloring
8-10 large green gumdrops
8-10 spearmint leaves
16-20 brown M&Ms
1. Prepare brownie mix as direction. Cook in 13 x 9 inch pan. Cool completely and then crumble brownies. Press brownie crumbs in bottom and up sides of 10-inch glass deep-dish pie plate.
2. In large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup of the milk with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth. Add remaining 1/4 cup milk and the pudding mix; beat on low speed until smooth. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the whipped topping. Add food coloring until desired green is achieved. Spread filling over brownie layer. Refrigerate 8 hours or until firm.
3. Slice pie into 8-10 servings. Cut gumdrops in half for alligator's eyes. Push a white chocolate chip into each gumdrop for pupils and add a dot of black icing if desired. Cut a spearmint leaf in half for snout and use two brown M&Ms for nostrils. Push white chocolate chips in the sides of each slice as teeth. Serve with a copy of this Alligator pie poem by Dennis Lee:
“Alligator pie, alligator pie,
If I don't get some I think I'm gonna die.
Give away the green grass, give away the sky,
But don't give away my alligator pie.”
Eat him before he eats you!
