Crime Writers' Cookie Swap

Crime Writers'
COOKIE SWAP!

Cleo Coyle, baker of
non-poisonous cookies

The Coffeehouse Mysteries

Because we have so many new blog followers and so many people getting ready for their own cookie swaps, I'm using today's post to share some favorite cookie recipes previously posted by my fellow crime-writing cooks.

Bake with joy,
and not with poisons!

~ Cleo

P.S. Do you have a favorite holiday cookie recipe (sans poisons)? Send it to Krista Davis! She's having a contest. If she bakes and posts your recipe, you'll win a fun prize (along with bragging rights!). Click here to learn more. Or send your recipe to Krista (at) KristaDavis (dot) com.

  4. I was alternately excited and sad when I read the cookie swap headline because I thought I'd missed out on an actual swap, not just a recipe swap and then it got me thinking about a time I did a cookie swap through Cooking LIght message boards where we signed up in a group with people we didn't know and mailed out dozen or more cookies to six people and received the same from six people + recipes. Some of my fave cookies come from that swap.

A thought for next year perhaps from your agent who can always find a way to give you more work.

    Congratulations!!! The book looks amazing.

  5. Congratulations, Krista! Wahoo! I've read this book and it's a delightful romp of a mystery. Hope everyone will buy one and put it in a stocking as well.

Cleo, love all the cookie links. What fun. You and I are on the same page. I am going to link some desserts on Thursday. :) I've got to make those Egg Nog cookies! Yum.

  6. Congrats, Krista!! I can't wait to get my hands on GOOSE. Hmm... did that come out right? LOL Avery is right - what a perfect stocking stuffer!

Cleo - great post. Love all the cookie recipes. I *love* cookies and my girls and I plan to bake up a storm as soon as they're all home again. Thanks for all the great links.

PS - to anyone who hasn't yet tried making Cleo's Little Chocolate Clouds -don't hesitate any longer! They are not only easy, they are a huge, huge hit with guests. Got a taste for them right now.

  9. Krista, according to Amazon, "the book is in the mail," so I should be reading Goose in the very near future.
Cleo, thanks for the links to the various cookie recipes. there is no such thing as too many cookie recipes. The little chocolate clouds look wonderful! I'm thinking maybe this afternoon I'll have to try those out!

  10. Very appropriate that this is a Crime Writers' Cookie swap because by the time I've tried all of these confections, it'll be murder on the waistline!

  15. Congratulations Krista! The trailer is adorable, I can't wait to read the book. Since it's a holiday read, this one flies to the top of my TBR list. A treat for the season.

Love! the cookie recipes. The oatmeal/cranberry/white chocolate is a favorite and now a whole new batch of new treats to try when the baking begins next week. Yum! My favorite holiday cookie is Mexican Shortbread, smothered with powdered sugar. Now where is that recipe? ....

  18. Oh my gosh! I can't possible thank everyone by name for all the good wishes. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope you'll all enjoy The Diva Cooks A Goose.

It did not escape my notice, though, that my agent popped in to suggest more work for me! LOL! It's a great idea, though. We ought to do some kind of cyber cookie swap. I'm really enjoying the Christmas cookie contest, though. My mom says she doesn't have to bake at all this year because I keep bringing her cookies to try!

Thanks again for all your good wishes!
