Cleo Coyle, world famous Director of The Coffeehouse Mysteries Book Trailer. |
Today is a very exciting day at Mystery Lovers' Kitchen. Why? Because it's the World Premiere of the official Coffeehouse Mystery Book Trailer! Woot!
Today is also the kick-off of the Killer Cozy Tour in North Carolina. Want to know if the Tour is coming to a store near you? Just click here. Then get out to meet and greet Riley Adams (Elizabeth Spann Craig), Avery Aames, Krista Davis, and J.B. Stanley. These amazing women writers would love to meet and talk with you--and, of coarse, personally inscribe books for you. The tour looks like killer fun, so if you live nearby, don't miss it!

And now, back to today's World Premiere of The Coffeehouse Mystery Book Trailer!!!!!! (Don't you just love multiple exclams?)
Actually, creating your own book trailer is a fairly simple endeavor (as many authors already know). It just takes some time to storyboard the thing and the consumption of a great deal of caffeine--which is never, ever a problem at chez Coyle.
Anyway, after eight years, nine books, and countless cups of joe, The Coffeehouse Mystery trailer is finally finished. Just click the arrow in the window below and you can join me in celebrating the big release! (Film release, that is. Shame on you for thinking I'd resort to bathroom humor. This blog has standards, you know.)

for GEE, Cleo, isn't there any sex,
violence, or four-letter words in this thing?
violence, or four-letter words in this thing?
(Answer: Not this version.
You'll have to wait for my Director's Cut.)
So...
What do you think? Should I keep my spring 2011 calendar cleared for Oscar parties?
Maybe I better keep my day job . . . which is writing the Coffeehouse Mysteries (and Haunted Bookshop Mysteries, but that's another blog post--and I can already tell you, getting Jack the ghost to sit still for a thermal imaging photo is going to be a be-yotch.)
Finally, if this is your first time here, I have a brand new book that just hit store shelves last week.
Starting this week, Roast Mortem has been selected for front of store, front table placement at Barnes and Noble! Woot! Photo taken last week at Columbia, SC, B&N Thank you to Deanna Spencer! |
My book is the one in the middle, looking tres petite between the big, bad mystery men--hmmm...a little like my amateur sleuth, Clare Cosi. She goes toe-to-toe with some fairly large and intimidating firefighters in Roast Mortem. But I think Clare holds her own. And, thus far, my little mystery is, too. Barnes and Noble selected it for front table, front of store placement for an entire month (starting this week).
So if you go into a Barnes and Noble over the next few weeks, say hello to my little book on the front table. :)

While you're there, be sure to scroll down and check out the contests, with wonderful prizes, still running to celebrate the release of my 9th Coffeehouse Mystery.
Thanks for joining me for my Book Trailer Premiere. See you next week with a new recipe. Until then...
Read with joy,

It looks so well done! I know I have to do one soon and i'm dreading it. I don't have any talent with that sort of thing.

Wow, SUPER job on that trailer!
ReplyDeleteI laughed, I cried, it touched me in an almost primal way. The trailer has changed the way I look at a cup of coffee forever.
ReplyDeleteActually, well done. Very talented eye for this.
I loved it. You did an outstanding job! My favorite part was when night falls. Clare can take on the world. Great job Cleo.
ReplyDeleteLove the trailer, you did a wonderful job. Very catchy. Best wishes on ROAST MORTEM. It's another great adventure for Clare.

Very nice, Cleo. I love book trailers that give you the sense of place. I enjoyed seeing Greenwich Village. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love it, especially the many views of the city.
ReplyDeleteWonderful trailer, Cleo!
ReplyDeleteLove the placement of ROAST MORTEM on the bookshelf. Woo-hoo!!! Congrats on the release! Always fun to have a new Clare Cosi to look forward to!
Julie (not on tour, but that's okay. Lots of work ahead here...)
The trailer was really good!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get the new book.
I liked it. Cool idea to make a book trailer. I've never seen one before.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to read the book before...the trailer made me even more anxious to read it. Will it out in paperback anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteI like the trailer and I'm going to share it with some friends. The music for the "night falls" scene is spot on.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Makes me homesick!
ReplyDeletePeg (on exile in Grand Rapids)
It's great! Where can I get one of those mocha muffins?

Good job on the trailer...very impressive!

I just got my E book from Amazon for my Kindle. Can't wait to begin reading it and then putting it on the shelf with all the rest of the Village Blend books
ReplyDeleteCleo, you did a fabulous job with the trailer. Good luck with the new book. I'm sure it will be a success!!
ReplyDeleteI have just heard about your book series and I am so excited to start reading it. I love coffee and I know this is going to be great reading when I sit down with my coffee and relax.
ReplyDeleteWell done, on the trailer! You realize, of course, that the next time you'll have to top this. Start planning NOW! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE your trailer! I've been playing with one for the Cupcake Bakery Mysteries, but
ReplyDeleteit doesn't hold a cuppa compared to yours. Very
inspiring!
Love the trailer! My friend loves baking so I'm definitely showing her this site :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a swell flick! And ROAST MORTEM may look petite, but it's feisty.
ReplyDelete"From tiny acorns the mighty oak grows"...or perhaps it's not the size of the book but the size of the story??? LOL...either way the trailer is wonderful, makes me almost want to leave hot and humid MI for hot and humid new York :-) I hope Jack calms down enough to give you some good material for him!!!

ReplyDelete@Clarissa Draper: Just jump right in and give it a try, Clarissa. It’s a lot of fun to put one together.
@Shel: Aw, thanks, Shel, glad you liked it.
@A Year on the Grill: I accept this Academy Award not for myself, but for all those struggling culinary writers and food bloggers everywhere. (kidding, kidding). Glad you liked it. In my world, wired is good. :)
@Babs: Oh, I’m glad you liked the “night falls” part. And you should see what I edited out to avoid an R rating!
@Lesa: Greenwich Village is a legendary neighborhood, and like the City around it, the Village changes all the time—providing me with great new locations for my next trailer (Gulp, I think I’m,rather getting ahead of myself!) Thanks for your kind words.
@Dru: Thanks, Dru. I agree. Gotta love the Big Apple.

ReplyDelete@Julie Hyzy - I’m thrilled RM is finally in stores. Your GRACE UNDER PRESSURE is still going strong, too, and with the Killer Cozy Book Tour under way, I’d say the Sisters in Crime are really out there swinging. :)
@June - So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for stopping by ~ read with joy. :)
@Jen - Thanks! I’m sure you’re going to see more book trailers in the future.
@Bonita - Wow. I whetted your appetite! I guess my trailer was effective. RM will be in hardcover for some time, but HOLIDAY GRIND, the Coffeehouse Mystery that comes before this one will be out in paperback in November. And ESPRESSO SHOT is available in paper now. So there's lots to choose from and you really can start anywhere with the series.
@Candace - John Williams and Lady GaGa were my first choices, but they proved a bit off my (non-existent) budget. So happy you loved the music anyway!
@Peg - Thanks, I’m thilled that I can send out a little piece of the Big Apple to you in Grand Rapids. Eat with joy. :)
@DarcyO – Stay tuned. Mocha Muffins are going to be in my next book (coming in 2011). Best I can do for now.
@PoCoKat - Many thanks. Glad you dropped in to check it out.

ReplyDelete@Anonymous - LOL on the Kindle. Lots of e-book readers these days, and it's an amazing evolution (and revolution). But I still do love holding the actual book. (I think most authors feel that way.)
@Janel - Thank you so much for your sweet words.
@jcdunn - Read with joy, and I hope you’ll like it enough to return to Clare's Village Blend again and again.
@PattieT - LOL! That’s quite a challenge. I hope I can live up to it.
@Jenn McKinlay - BOOM! There it went. My head swellled so much it finally exploded! (kidding, kidding). I can’t wait to see your Cupcake trailer. Like your new cover, and SPRINKLE WITH MURDER, I’m sure it will be an absolutely awesome treat. :)
@NCP - Wonderful! Please tell you friend that we love our follower and commenters. The more the merrier -- especially when it comes to cooks and bakers!
@Vickie - Oh, feisty is the perfect word for describing my little mystery - love it!
@Nancy - Wonderful thought. And I agree, the measure of a good story is never in length, the measure of a good book never in size. Wise words indeed. Always love to see you comments, Nanc.
Cheers, everyone. Thank you for dropping by my big *World Premiere*!
