And the winner is....

...Mat Matazzoni with "Calamity Cream"!!!
Yeah, Mat! As the winner of the Name the Cupcake
Contest, Mat and his cupcake will be written into
BUTTERCREAM BUMP OFF
to be published
in January 2011 and I'll be sending him a signed
copy hot off the presses. Thanks to everyone who
particpated. The response was overwhelming.
We almost had to upgrade to a larger sized drawing
bucket to put all the entrants in! It was a hoot to read
all of the entries. Truly, I enjoyed every one!

And now....it's OUT!!! Yippee, hot dog, make that Yippee, Cupcake!
SPRINKLE WITH MURDER is officially out and I couldn't be
more excited.

To celebrate, I am taking a day off from posting recipes to announce a
new contest! Our March Contest is in celebration of cupcakes.
Shocker, I know! If you would like to win a prize of cupcakes
from Crumbs Bake Shop, all you have to do is send us an
email or a comment with your idea of the wackiest cupcake
ingredients you can think of: broccoli-bacon, licorice-pretzel,
you name it! Now go out and have a cupcake and celebrate with me!!!

Wahooo!
Jenn

  1. Congratulations Jenn on the release of your book. Way to go. Hope you have much success and lots of fun.

As for a wacky ingredient for cupcakes - Spam (don't know where that came from, think I need sleep). Cute contest.

  5. I'd eat anything with buttercream on it! (And I've already read the book, tee hee!)

Breakfast cupcake: the cake part is whole-grain with bacon bits, with a whole egg embedded in the middle (surprise!), topped with a maple frosting.

  10. LOL! Red hots, corn bread, bacon, tomatoes, Spam? I love it! How about tripe?
Now you all know what I do when I can't sleep,
I invent weird cupcakes (in my mind).

Has anyone seen Post's cereal Cupcake Pebbles?
I won't let the dudes have it, but I am curious...

  11. Congrats to Matt for coming up with "Calamity Creme" -- what a great cupcake name.

And congrats to you, Jenn, on today's publication of SPRINKLE WITH MURDER!

Everyone: I read SPRINKLE before publication and I highly recommend it. The characters are lovingly drawn--they'll feel like your new best friends. The setting of Fairy Tale Cupcakes is the sort of homey bakery you'll wish existed in your own neighborhood. And the mystery is a lot of fun, with great twists and turns.

Cheers, Jenn! Congrats again on the publication of a truly winning read!

  13. Hi Jenn! I received Sprinkle With Murder from B&N a few days ago, and can't wait to start it! Everything I've heard and read tells me it's going to be a delectable mystery. I'd love cupcakes baked with M&Ms and . . . more M&Ms! Yum.
